RV Park Reviews
Fire
Lake
Camper
Park,
Bowling Green
– This 96-site Passport America
affiliated park can accommodate RVs up to 40 feet long, with 30 amp
electric, water, a dump station, clean restrooms and showers, laundry
room, store, modem access, and an eight acre fishing lake.
Fire
Lake
is friendly, convenient to Interstate 75, and the best place we’ve
found to stay when visiting nearby Toledo
.

Family RV Park, Parkman
- A lot of seasonal sites here, and some of the trailers look like
they have been here for a long time. The park is very family oriented,
with a swimming lake, two fishing lakes, playgrounds, and activities.
Full hookup 30 and 50 amp grass sites, LP gas, a store, and a dump
station. Interior roads are dirt and need graded, and when we visited
the ground was saturated with water from recent heavy storms. The
maintenance crew spent a lot of time pulling cars and RVs free that had
gotten stuck in the mud. The owners are friendly, and new to the
business, and hopefully they will upgrade the sites and improve the
property as time goes by.
Van
Wert County Fairgrounds, Van Wert
- We spent a night at the fairgrounds on our way south for the
winter. Popular with RV rallies, the fairgrounds also rents sites by the
night to passing RVers. $10 bought us a level full hookup grass site
with 50 amp power. To us, that’s a good bargain, and we will stop
again.

Recreational
Village, Parkman
– I’m pretty sure it would be easier to get into the
Pentagon carrying an AK-47 and wearing a shirt that said “Kill the
Infidels” than it would be to get into this Coast to Coast
“resort.” They made it very clear that they do not want anybody but
home park members staying there, and have a screening process to keep
the great unwashed public at bay. From what I saw of the park, I have no
idea what they are trying to protect, except for a lot of trailers on
permanent sites, muddy roads, and a high percentage of people “in
charge.” Pass this one up and find yourself a WalMart to spend the
night. The ambience will be better.
